A name full of history and memories of colonial times!
The term Indochina refers to the intermingling of Indian and Chinese in uences in the culture of the region. Real independence did not come to the region until after the Geneva Conference of 1954.
The French left a multitude of colonial buildings and infrastructures while the Americans dotted war relics along the way in Laos and Vietnam. The rally is a drive through Indochina’s colonial past and the amazing landscapes forged by the Mekong River. The rally will start in the port city of Nha Trang, passing Saigon and the Mekong delta before heading towards the Cambodian border visiting places like Kratie with its famous Irrawaddy dolphins and Siem Reap, the home of the Khmer empire of Angkor.
After crossing the border into Laos at the 4000 islands waterfall, take a fabulous drive through the limestone hills of Paksan, and further to the Plain of Jars and the mystical city of Luang Pra- bang. Crossing the border into North Vietnam, you will discover famous places like Dien Bien Phu, Sapa with its amazing steep rice terraces. The rally will end on a 5 Star Cruise in the world-famous Halong Bay, a Unesco World Heritage.
